-KICKSTARTER: ENDLESS: FANTASY TACTICS

Endless: Fantasy Tactics is a tactical miniatures game designed by On The Lamb Games. With a focus on boutique style miniatures and an art aesthetic harkening back to console RPGs of the 90s, you can build your own custom team of knights, wizards, and monsters. Equip them with items and pick their abilities. Fight it out in story scenarios, or recreations of your favorite games. A standard game takes about 20 to 30 minutes to play with 5-10 miniatures and uses a D6 pool-based system of gameplay.

You can download the Work-In-Progress Quickstart Rules here.

Our goal is to get the initial figures sculpted and cast, and as we progress stretch goals add more artwork to the rulebook. For the Kickstarter and retail release, we’ve sorted starter sets into themed Elemental Crystal Chests, but you can easily pick and choose your perfect party once you have the models in your hands. Additional funding will be used to cover additional Crystal Chests and models added to each Crystal Chest, along with getting a printed Full Color Hardback edition made.

If you visited our booth at GAMA Trade Show or Adepticon you would have seen the first sculpt of the Sorcerer by Daniel Fokine. Brother Vinni has done the Dragoon, and we plan to have a number of talented sculptors join the range.

Endless uses 40mm (Avg to Top of Head) miniatures on a 25mm/1” square grid. Unlike most other miniatures games, Endless does not feature faction specific models. All models are available for use by any player, and can easily be mixed and matched to suit any personal taste or play-style.

RISKS AND CHALLENGESLearn about accountability on Kickstarter

What risks does this project face?
We face the risk that without funding we will be unable to pay for the art, sculpts, molds, and casting that a full retail release requires. Instead, it is likely that the game will only see a handful of miniatures released over a much longer period of time. By reaching our funding goal, we will be able to produce a full color rulebook with complete art and story, in addition to the rules. If we don't reach our goal, the book is likely to only contain a small amount of art and be printed without color.

If our goal is reached, the issues we face are damage/loss of miniature sculpts during production, or judging the models to not be up to our level of quality. In such cases in the past we have paid to resculpt the miniatures out of our own income, to ensure our players receive the best we can provide.

What Qualifies us to complete this goal?
On The Lamb Games is an independent publisher that has been in business since 2007. We have self-published 2 previous games, and currently work with Mongoose Publishing writing RPG supplements. Endless will be our 3rd company game and the 2nd with a focus on miniatures. Our previous experience has helped us handle hiccups during miniature and game production in the past and we will be able to resolve any issues that arise with Endless.

Our Previous Kickstarter:
Our last Kickstarter, to release miniatures for the final two armies of Brushfire: Historia Rodentia, went well. We have received 4 of 5 miniatures needed to complete the pledges. Out of 50 backers, only 10 have not received their orders. Our expert sculptor for reptilian miniatures, Jason Wiebe, has delivered the first of two models required to finish these last few orders. This sculptor has worked on several other Kickstarter projects and is a known member of the industry, including working for Reaper, the company that recently did a $3.5 million Kickstarter project. When his sculpt arrives it will be a month to get the miniatures reproduced and out to our last 10 pledgers. We have been in contact with the remaining pledges and kept them apprised of the process. It is because these sorts of delays that we have given a larger buffer of August 2013 for delivery date of Endless pledges.
