-KICKSTARTER: FANTICIDE

Alien Dungeon se sube al carro de los Kickstarters y aqui teneis toda la presentación del mismo. Las miniaturas son una chulada y el sistema de juego promete. Desde Forja y Desván seguiremos desde cerca este Kickstarter.

Fanticide is a 28mm tabletop fantasy skirmish wargame for miniatures created by Alien Dungeon that features opposing homicidal warbands battling in the strange realm of Nowhere. The game was written and created by Ernest Baker, E. Skye Chaney, Rick Priestley, Andy Chambers and Alessio Cavatore. It contains exceptional artwork from Tony Ackland, Alyn Spiller and John Moriarty.
Why Kickstarter?

The rulebook is on its way as are the homicidal warbands. We have put Fanticide on Kickstarter to ensure we get the Event/Activation Cards (crucial to the game play) printed in the quantity and quality our customers expect. In addition, we want to have these cool laser cut acrylic templates out there to help with the magic users!

Now onto Nowhere...

The World of Nowhere is a place out of time and space where strange creatures and artifacts come to rest from all over a multitude of universes. At launch, the game will have FOUR unique warbands – the Liberi Centaurs, the Fae, the Flying Monkeys of the Kingdom of Odd, and the Creeps. These exciting figures are part of our partnership with Eureka Miniatures. They are easy to paint and quick to get on your gaming table!

Fanticide allows you to play fantasy tabletop wargames without investing several hundreds of dollars on your rules and armies. We wanted a game that was full of furious action and whimsically grim at the same time.

Units in Fanticide are organized into Homicide squads. Peeves are small, swarmy creatures that attack in packs. Sticker, Clubber and Slasher squads form the backbone of warbands with spear, club and sword. They are commanded by Masters but warbands are led by powerful individuals called Legends. Monsters frequently accompany warbands as unpredictable but potentially devastating allies. Some creatures can use spells from the disciplines of Frost, Fire, Soul and Time.

A typical warband is 750 points and usually consists of between 30-40 miniatures. Warbands can even take Hostile Terrain choices to provide additional fury to their attacks or rock hard defenses. Our Starter Warband Boxes range in points value between 500 and 750 points.

Fanticide uses a card activation sequence for determining what units can move and act. These cards are assigned to each unit, character and monster in the game. These activation cards are drawn one at a time and the units are activated in turn. This brings a new dynamic to the game and gets away from the traditional 'you go – I go' model of tabletop wargaming. There are also Event cards that are shuffled in with the activation cards which produce random outcomes like killer unicorns enraged by the ‘Rainbow’ Event.

Using a D10 system, the game play is full of fast but challenging action, though it always remains first and foremost FUN! We don’t take ourselves too seriously (and how could we with Flying Monkeys and skin eating eyeball monsters!). The game harkens back to the early days of fantasy miniature gaming when the emphasis was on fun AND imagination!

The Fanticide rulebook is a hardback, full color, 128 page book. Included with the rulebook is the Activation/Event Deck which consists of 68 full color cards, including blanks to create your own units and Events.

There will be FOUR (4) warbands released with the rulebook based on the mythology and background of Nowhere.

The Fae are a mysterious and dangerous people of the Forest, and their secrets are jealously hidden from other creatures. Much about them is swathed in shadows, and perhaps such shadows are better left undisturbed. The Fae consists of Satyrs, Sprytes, Brownies and Tree Monsters. Many of the Fae are malevolent beings; they seek to do harm, and often require no provocation to unleash their malice on anything not of the Forest itself.

The Fae are a powerful force of both magical attack and brute strength, working diligently to feed the Ancient Ones and grow the Forest realm to ultimately cover all of Nowhere beneath its leaves.

Seemingly having no purpose but eating the skin of other creatures, Creeps hunt in the dark and at night in roving bands. The most numerous are the size of a man and carry rocks, primitive clubs and spears tipped with flint or bone. Larger versions of Creeps carry the same simple weapons, but are powerful and resilient due to their size. The largest Creeps ever seen are the Creepy Mothers, and every warband has one. They are very large, easily two to three times the height of a man and seemingly in a constant state of birthing or budding off new Creeps. These start as little creatures no more than a foot high, which scurry about the feet of their mother until they are large enough to form swarms.

Creeps are eerily silent and utter no sound of any kind. When they come across potential victims, they slowly gather. Finally the Creepy Mother makes an appearance, opens her broad mouth in a silent scream, and so stirs the entire Creep band into a frenzied attack. Creeps all have a large singular eye; quite good at seeing in the dark, and underneath their eye they have wide gaping mouths full of flesh stripping teeth.

The Centaurs name themselves the Liberi. They live on the great, grass covered plains of Nowhere’s Northeast region called the Swarth. It is a land rich in grasses and dotted with small clumps of trees and lots of rock spires. There, they hunt the massive herds of birds, the Eun.

In terms of their physical appearance, the Liberi come in as wide a variety of skin colors as painted ponies. The skin of the upper body is mostly devoid of hair but reflects the skin and tail color of the rest of the creature. The Liberi make use of spears and bows. Rank and prowess is often defined by elaborate headdresses adorned with feathers taken either from the great herds or the vultures.

The Liberi are organized into many tribes each with a Chief and a Shaman who share power between them. The Shamans are quite capable in Earth Spirit Magics such as Fire, Ice, and Time, but not the unnatural (to the Liberi anyway) magic of Soul. Liberi are the hardest hitting of all cavalry choices in Fanticide.

The Flying Monkeys are the genetically modified soldier slaves of the Masters, rulers of the Kingdom of Odd.

Warbands of Flying Monkeys scour Nowhere searching for broken bits of technology and gathering materials that have come through the Hole for the factories of the Masters.

Flying Monkeys are organized along military lines into platoons, companies and regiments. Their ranks include swordsmen, spearmen, and bowmen. Some monkeys carry firearms including flintlocks and blunderbusses.

Music is a programmed means of control. Flying Monkey leaders are accompanied by a band which plays an assortment of simple instruments including horns, drums and ukulele. Flying Monkeys are also sometimes supported by genetically modified flying gorillas and smelly magic carpets.

Each warband in Fanticide has unique features and abilities for many gaming options.
